Deborah Westphal, CPM®, ARM®, the Executive Director for the Institute of Real Estate Management Ga and West Coast Chapter. Westphal is a real estate consultant, motivational trainer, plus an operations and marketing specialist. Westphal has expansive knowledge of the real estate industry from personal experience of more than twenty years.

 

In a 22 year period Deborah worked for four different management companies, two for a combined total of 19.5 years. From Leasing Agent to a Vice President, Westphal never failed to remember that nothing takes the place of sound fundamentals and utilizing best practices. Never losing sight of the importance of every team member. Responsible for the operations of over 6K multifamily units. Supervised Regional Property Managers, strategized with Owner, Managed Real Estate Owned Portfolios and 3rd party owners for Clients. Performed management, financial performance, annual budgets, analysis of monthly operating statements, and weekly statistics. Experienced with conventional, lease-up assets, new construction, rehab, acquisitions, and dispositions.


Westphal has received numerous honors from IREM®, the Atlanta Apartment Association,
and one of her previous company of 14 years, Lane Company. Winning ARM® of the Year and CPM® of the year two times and the Presidential Award with IREM® GA multiple times. Attaining the highest Portfolio Annual Effective Rent Growth compared to over 30K units, within Lane Company, A Pillar of the Industry finalist for Regional Manager of the Year, four times awarded the Business Manager of the quarter, twelve times presented the Star award for obtaining perfect shoppers report scores, and still holding the record for the highest renewal rate secured within the company. Her teams maintained the highest KPI's in all 4 categories for 14 consecutive months companywide until her departure. Her teams had the lowest turnover and the highest performance evaluations.


Keenly aware of Optimizing revenue and controlling expenditures, Deborah has learned
how to share that concept with leaders to enhance operations. Westphal possesses a special skill set for training others, by supporting and encouraging team members to provide optimal performance levels daily, while recognizing the direct impact this has on the company’s Key Performance Indicators.
